World Ocean Day is a great opportunity for your family to learn more about our seas and marine life.
MarineQuest will hold an event to celebrate World Ocean Day.
The event, Friday, June 8, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., is at the UNCW Watson College of Education.
Participants at the event will learn how to protect and conserve the ocean.
There will be activities about endangered whales, marine debris, life cycles and coral reefs.
To take part in the World Ocean Day picture with Watson the Whale, a life-size replica of a whale, plan to be at the event at 3 p.m.
MarineQuest hosts summer camps and its camp counselors will be at the event to answer questions.
Pre-registration is required for the free event. To sign up, click here.
