Back-to-back state champs: Whiteville baseball earns its ninth ring in school history

ZEBULON, NC (WECT) - For the second year in a row, the Whiteville High School baseball team is state champions after beating Ledford 6-4.

The Wolfpack fell behind 4-2 in the fifth inning but scored four straight runs and the pitching staff did the rest. Saturday's win in the 2A title game marks the ninth baseball state championship in school history.

Brooks Baldwin was named the 2A Baseball State Championship Most Valuable Player.
