WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Clean Water Week marks one year since the public learned about GenX in Cape Fear River.

The event kicks off Friday, June 1 with outdoor documentaries at Tidal Creek Co-op.

As part of the week highlighting the health of our water, Cape Fear Surfrider will host an informative panel conversation with water quality experts.

"What’s in Our Water?" will explore what we know about what's in the water and what is next in the efforts to make sure the drinking water is safe.

Panelists include Dr. Jane Hoppin, Dana Sargent, Jim Fletchner, Dr. Larry Cahoon, Dr. Jamie DeWitt, and Dr. Susanne Brander. WHQR’s Vince Winkel will moderate the panel discussion.
