Mobile Homes Traveling to Hurricane Victims

SEPTEMBER 9, 2005 -- For hundreds of homeless Katrina victims new homes are coming to them. About 1,800 mobile homes are traveling to Baton Rouge. Five of those are coming from Wilmington.

Luv Homes' parent company is donating the mobile homes at cost to Katrina victims. Several of the homes are already furnished.

Thursday, crews loaded the houses on trailers. Friday, trucks will hitch up to begin the three day drive to Louisiana.

The selling value of the homes is between $38,000 and $52,000.

The manager says the customers who were already promised those houses gave them up to help the victims.
