Cole Weiss doubled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give UNCW a 2-1 win over Delaware in the opening game of the Colonial Athletic Association baseball tournament on Wednesday.
Weiss had three hits and drove in both runs for the Seahawks (34-20). His RBI single that scored Kep Brown tied the game at 1-1 in the seventh.
UNCW, which faces top seed and regular season champion Northeastern on Thursday at 11 a.m., leads the nation with seven walk-off wins this season.
Austin Warren (8-0) earned the victory after striking out all four Blue Hens he faced.
Seahawks starter Gage Herring pitched a career-best 6 2/3 innings, allowing one run and striking out six.
Mason Berne extended his consecutive games on base streak to 48 with a single in the fourth inning.
