Crews respond to structure fire in Hampstead

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Multiple fire crews responded to a structure fire in Hampstead on Friday evening.

Pender County Deputy Fire Marshall Tommy Batson said there were reports of heavy fire at a structure in the Pelican Reef neighborhood in the 200 block of Whimbrel Way.

Batson said there were no injuries to residents or emergency personnel. Two animals were taken out of the residence unharmed, according to Batson.

Pender County Fire, EMS and Sheriff's Office, Surf City Fire and Holly Ridge Fire all responded to the fire call that came in around 6 p.m.
