LEAKE COUNTY, MS (WLBT) -

It's a fascinating tale as old as time -- the mystery of a message in a bottle.

Angi Webb found a note dated nearly 30 years ago inside of a glass bottle floating in the Pearl River.

The bottle was found just north of Low Head Dam in Leake County with a note inside dated February 10, 1989.

"I've found tons of trash, but never anything like this," said Webb.

The outdoor enthusiast is a kayaker, who owns Pearl River Kayaks in Scott County.

The bottle, with a rusted cap, was found near the bank seven miles up river from Webb's kayak rental business at Coal Bluff Park.

"I just thought about these little kids with their mom and dad out there writing the note, throwing it in," said the 52-year-old Brandon resident. "I figured for two or three years they might have thought about it, but have long since forgotten it".

The full text of the note says:

Our names are tony and Chris Taylor. I am 4 years old and Chris is 2 years old. We hope somebody finds this bottle. We love you and God loves you!

The message is signed by Tony and Chris Taylor of Carthage.

Now, she's trying to find the two Carthage natives.

After reaching shore, Webb got to work trying to locate the brothers who would now be adults.

"We have put it on Facebook. I have contacted everyone I know in Carthage. The word is spreading across Facebook, but so far no one has contacted us that could say that this was their family members," added the sentimental kayaker, "I hopefully their parents are still with them, and they can share it as a family memory."

Angi Webb is trying to locate Tony or Chris Taylor.
