WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

A parking mix-up led to a company towing away cars from a lot where teachers left them while they headed to Raleigh for Wednesday's rally.

According to Judy Howard with Howard’s Towing and Recovery, there’s a sign in front of the parking lot where the old Kmart sits on South College Road that warns people not to park there.

She said the company started towing cars from the lot Wednesday morning. When they realized the cars belonged to teachers who took a bus from the lot to Raleigh, the property manager told Howard’s Towing to return the cars to the lot.

Howard said the teachers did not get permission to park in the lot, but that the company did return all of the cars.

“The issue is squared away,” Howard said.
