A yoga festival coming up in Wilmington isn't solely about learning the mental and physical discipline of the exercise. It's for a good cause as well.
The second annual Roots of Love Yoga Festival is scheduled for Saturday at Poplar Grove Plantation and proceeds will benefit Roots of Recovery, an organization in the Hampstead/Holly Ridge area that helps struggling mothers and their children.
Catherine McDowell with Roots of Recovery was in the WECT studio on Tuesday's First at Four to discuss the festival, which lasts from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and will feature yoga classes for all experience levels, interactive workshops and children's activities.
An all-day pass costs $20. Kids under 13 get in free.
Poplar Grove Plantation is located at 10200 US Highway 17.
In addition to practicing yoga and learning about it, there will be live music, local vendors, food trucks and more.
