Burgaw Sends Supplies to Adopted MS City

SEPTEMBER 7, 2005 -- It's a story about one town reaching out to another in a time of crisis. Burgaw has adopted the hurricane ravaged city of Gautier, Mississippi.

The mayor is travelling with the trucks headed from Burgaw to Gautier. The vehicles are packed with generators, chainsaws, water and the other necessities of life after a storm.

Jack Ruth is the pastor of the Methodist church in Burgaw. He coordinated the campaign that swept from house to house, church to school to store until the trucks were full.

The trucks are now headed south, ready to bring some relief to the residents of Gautier.
