WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Tenth-ranked East Carolina scored five runs in the fifth inning as the Pirates rallied to beat UNCW 5-4 in a nonconference baseball game at Brooks Field Wednesday night.

ECU (35-12), which improved to 18-2 on the road this season, was led by Spencer Brickhouse, who went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs.

UNCW (29-17) saw its three-game winning streak come to an end.

Mason Berne reached base in his 41st consecutive game with a ninth-inning double that also extended his hitting streak to 10 games.

UNCW returns to Colonial Athletic Association play this weekend with a three-game road series against league-leading Northeastern.
