WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - For the second consecutive year, the UNCW softball team will be playing for an automatic NCAA tournament berth. The Seahawks beat College of Charleston 2-1 Saturday afternoon to earn a Colonial Athletic Association tournament bid.

Senior Sarah Davis (6-7) gave up just one run over four innings of work to earn her second win of the weekend. Lacey Fox carried the Seahawks offense with a 2-for-3 outing, including a double in the first inning to give the Seahawks an early 1-0 lead. A sacrifice fly by Anna Knox extended the lead to 2-0 in the second inning.

Haley Lenderman took over for Davis and pitched three frames without giving up a hit to earn her second save of the year. The Seahawks (19-27, 9-12 CAA) will face the Cougars in the opening game of the CAA Championship at James Madison's Veterans Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
