UNCW men's tennis to play Tennessee in NCAA Regionals

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The UNCW men's tennis team will battle Tennessee in the NCAA Regionals in Chapel Hill.

The two-time defending Colonial Athletic Association champions gathered with family and friends Tuesday to watch the selection show at in the Golden Hawk Room on the UNCW campus.

Third-seed UNCW (18-4) will take on the second-seed Vols (20-8) on Saturday, May 12.

"After playing the No. 1 team in the country, any opponent seems like an improvement," UNCW head coach Mait DuBois about playing Wake Forest last year. "Tennessee is a good team. They did well in the SEC and I think it's going to come down to who's ready to go that day."

The first and second rounds will be held in Chapel Hill on May 12-13. The finals will be held May 18-28 in Winston-Salem.

It's UNCW's sixth trip to the NCAA tournament. The Seahawks are 1-6 in NCAA tournament matches.
