'Words on Bathroom Walls' filming causes street closures

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Movie making has returned to Wilmington, at least for the time being.

More than 100 people are out on Castle Street Monday filming scenes for Words on Bathroom Walls, a feature film about a high school student living with paranoid schizophrenia. 

Filming is expected to wrap up around 11 Monday night, and crews will be back again Tuesday.

During filming, Castle Street is closed between Fourth and Fifth streets.

Words on Bathroom Walls is an adaptation of the book by the same name. The movie stars Charlie Plummer, and AnnaSophia Robb.

According to film permits, crews will also be filming in the following locations:

Wednesday, May 9: 1402 Country Club Road, 2 p.m.-2 a.m. Street closures: Country Club between Oleander and Mimosa; Mimosa between Country Club and Acacia (local traffic will have access as needed at all times). Intermittent traffic control will be used instead of closure when possible on Country Club between Oleander and Mimosa; Mimosa between Country Club and Acacia holding traffic in 2-3 minute intervals.

Monday, May 14: 2202 Shirley Rd., 9 a.m.-11 p.m. No street closures.

Tuesday, May 15: College Diner, 911 S. College Rd., 7 a.m.-11 p.m. No street closures.

Tuesday, June 5: Benny's Big Time Pizzeria, 206 Greenfield St., 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Street closures: Greenfield between Front and 3rd; 2nd between Greenfield and Willard.
