WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - UNCW senior Lyberty Anderson has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Year in a unanimous vote of the league's head coaches.

Anderson, the two-time reigning CAA individual medalist, was joined on the All-CAA First Team by sophomore Thao My Nguyen.

Anderson is the fourth different Seahawk to earn the CAA's top women's golf honor, joining Becky Berzonski (2005), Carmen Perez-Narbon (2007, 2009) and Lori Beth Adams (2013).

The Chesterfield, Va., native leads the CAA with a 73.60 scoring average, the top single-season mark in school history, while posting seven rounds of par or better.

Anderson, a transfer from Virginia, earned a pair of tournament wins during her final year with the Seahawks. She finished in a tie for first place at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic before taking her second straight CAA individual title in April.

In two seasons at UNCW, Anderson set a school record with a 74.32 scoring average in 50 rounds while posting three tournament wins.

Nguyen ranked second on the team this year with a 74.24 scoring average and matched the school record with nine rounds of par or better.
