ST. JAMES PLANTATION, North Carolina (UNCW) - Senior Lyberty Anderson became the second student-athlete in Colonial Athletic Association history to win back-to-back individual women's golf titles as UNCW completed play at the CAA Championship at The Reserve Club at St. James Plantation on Sunday morning.
Led by Anderson, the Seahawks finished in fifth place with a 937 team score after carding a 324 score in the final round. College of Charleston finished 10 strokes ahead of two-time defending CAA champion Delaware to secure its third women's golf championship.
Anderson moved into the lead during the final day of the tournament after carding a one-over-par 37 on the final nine holes. She finished the tournament at seven-over-par (75-71-77=233) for the third tournament title of her career.
Sophomore Thao My Nguyen ended the tournament in a tie for 10th place after shooting 16-over-par (76-78-78=232) while freshman Rachael Mast followed with a share of 24th place (78-77-85=240).
Junior Ellinoora Moisio closed out the weekend in 26th place at 27-over-par (78-80-85=243) while senior Kayla Thompson ended play in a tie for 32nd place (80-84-84=248).
