WFD crews respond to two homes on fire on Shipyard Blvd.

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

Crews with the Wilmington Fire Department responded to a structure fire call on Shipyard Boulevard on Friday night.

Homes at 411 and 413 Shipyard were damaged by fire, according to WFD spokesperson Sammy Flowers. He said the extent of the damage is not known, but Flowers added nobody was in either home and there have been no reports of injuries.

WFD tweeted that crews found "heavy fire" when they arrived on the scene around 9:30 p.m.

New Hanover County Dispatch said the first call for a fire came in at 9:17. 

Subsequent tweets from the fire department said a fire was under control by 9:40 and searches of the area were all clear.

At 9:43, WFD tweeted the fire was out.

Flowers said the fires are under investigation. We will provide more details when they're available.
