Six-run fourth inning leads N.C. State past UNCW

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The fourth-ranked N.C. State baseball team scored six runs in the fourth inning en route to an 8-3 victory UNCW at Brooks Field on Wednesday.

Austin Easter (3-2) took the loss, allowing five runs in relief, all in the fourth inning.

Greg Jones and Mason Berne each had two hits for the Seahawks (20-12). Berne extended his hitting streak to 13 games.

Zack Canada hit his sixth home run of the season in the fifth to cut the deficit to 6-3.

UNCW (20-12) returns to Colonial Athletic Association play with a series at Delaware starting Friday.
