Williamsburg, VA (WECT) - Three UNCW pitchers held William & Mary to five hits as the Seahawks beat the Tribe 7-2 on Sunday to clinch a Colonial Athletic Association baseball series.
UNCW (19-8, 4-2 CAA) took the lead for good and broke a 1-1 tie on Cole Weiss' two-run home run in the top of the fourth inning. Weiss homered again in the sixth and finished the game 3-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored.
Ryan Jeffers also went 3-for-5 and scored twice and drove in a pair of runs for the Seahawks.
UNCW starter Gage Herring pitched four innings of one-hit ball before Justin Walke relieved him and tossed 3.1 innings to move to 4-0 on the year. Austin Easter closed it out for the Seahawks with 1.2 innings of perfect relief.
No players had more than one hit for William & Mary (10-18, 1-5).
