UNCW rallied for two runs in the top of the eighth inning to beat William & Mary 3-2 and even the teams' Colonial Athletic Association baseball series at one game each on Saturday.
Zack Canada doubled with one out to start the Seahawks' rally in the eighth and Ryan Jeffers followed with a double to left field, scoring Canada for a 2-2 tie.
After Mason Berne was intentionally walked, David Sheaffer singled through the left side to bring Jeffers home with the game-winning run.
Austin Warren (4-0) worked 2.1 innings of relief to earn the victory for UNCW (18-8, 3-2 CAA) and Clark Cota recorded his eighth save of the season despite giving up a hit and a walk in the ninth inning. Seahawk starter Landen Roupp went 5.1 innings, allowing two runs on five hits with eight strikeouts, three walks and four wild pitches.
Canada and Cole Weiss led the UNCW offense, going 3-for-5 and 2-for-4, respectively. Weiss scored the Seahawks' other run.
The series concludes Sunday with a 1 p.m. first pitch.
