WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Airlie Gardens will kick off its Summer Concert Series on Friday, May 18, will a performance by reggae band Signal Fire.
The series will then resume its traditional schedule of performances on the first and third Fridays from June through September.
Concerts are held from 6-8 p.m.

May 18: Signal Fire (reggae)
June 1: Machine Gun (80's covers and more)
June 15: Massive Grass (blue grass)
July 6: Wilmington Big Band (big band and swing)
July 20: L Shape Lot (new grass, Americana)
Aug. 3: Dung Beatles (Beatles tribute)
Aug. 17: Bibis Ellison (pop/covers)
Sept. 7: Jack Jack 180 (pop/rock/alternative)
Sept. 21: Jim Quick and Coastline (beach music)
Off-site parking will be at the New Hanover County Government Center at 230 Government Center Drive. Parking will be on the west side of the building that faces College Road. Free shuttles to Airlie will start running at 5 p.m. Parking at Airlie Gardens is by permit only.
"We have a great lineup of bands this year, with a mix of genres that will appeal to a variety of musical tastes," said New Hanover County Parks and Gardens Director Tara Duckworth. "We look forward to the return of our seasoned concert-goers and invite new faces to join in the festivities.
"Every year the concert series grows, proving to us that families still value spreading out a blanket, enjoying a picnic, and listening to good music on a summer night."
Concert tickets can be purchased here. Tickets are $9 for adults, $2 for kids age 4-12.
