WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Some of the best high school basketball players from North and South Carolina where in Wilmington for the 20th annual Carolina Classic girls and boys all-star game at Hoggard High School on Saturday.
To go along with the two all-star games, the House of Raeford awarded a check of $25,000 to New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Betty H. Cameron Women's & Children's Hospital.
"We are just excited to be able to do this" said House of Raeford President and CEO Bob Johnson.
For the student athletes the all-star game was more than just playing basketball.
"They went to the hospital to see some kids and signed some basketballs. And also went to some Boys & Girls Clubs and put on some basketball clinics. So, it's been a serving type of event for them. As well as being able to show off their talents they have worked so hard."
