In December, the New Hanover High School football team won the 3AA state championship.
Now players and coaches now can show off their bling.
The school hosted a ring ceremony Wednesday evening at Brogden Hall to honor players and coaches.
"It's a dream come true,” said New Hanover senior Nas Brown. “Since we won, we have been waiting to get them."
Wildcats head coach Earl Smith was as excited as his players. The championship was Smith’s first in 35 years of coaching.
"It all came together at the right time, and a lot of hard work," Smith said.
The school handed out 81 rings. The football boosters, athletic department, and administration raised money to pay for them.
