SOUTHPORT, NC (WECT) -

A fish-out-of-water story about a man trying to keep his inheritance and his girlfriend, Me and My Girl premieres at the Brunswick Little Theatre on Thurs., March 15. It runs for the next two weekends.

The show follows the story of Bill, an unrefined Cockney man, who discovers he is the 14th heir to the Earl of Hareford.

Hilarity ensues when he meets his new relatives, who must approve of him and his girlfriend in order for Bill to get his title and the riches that come with it.

The show first premiered in 1937 but it was updated in the 1980's when it became a hit on Broadway.
