Former UNCW men’s basketball assistant coach Rodney Terry has a new job.
Terry is leaving his head coaching job at Fresno State to become the head coach at the University of Texas El Paso. The move will take Terry closer to home, since he is a native of, Angelton Texas.
He led the Bulldogs to a record of 126-108 in seven seasons, including 20-win seasons in four of the last five years.
Terry takes over a UTEP program that finished 11-20 under Phil Johnson, who replaced Tim Floyd after he stepped down just six games into the season.
Terry served as an assistant coach at UNCW from 1998-2002 under head coach Jerry Wainwright.
