BOLIVIA, NC (WECT) -

Students from Brunswick County Schools took to the stage Thursday night for the annual Arts Alive Student Showcase at Odell Williamson Auditorium on the campus of Brunswick Community College.

More than 300 students from the county's elementary, middle and high schools entertained the crowd with a variety of instrumental, song and dance performances. They chose songs from entertainers including Michael and Janet Jackson, Rhianna, Ben E. King and The Beatles. This is the 18th year the Brunswick County Schools' Fine Arts Department has presented this event.

It was also the second performance in recent weeks at the venue for high school students in Brunswick County. Many of them also performed in the Spotlight on Talent showcase in February.

Both events are free for the public to attend every year. Organizers did accept donations of canned food, which are then donated to food pantries in Brunswick County.
