SOUTHEASTERN, NC (WECT) -

Three prayer sessions have been planned for Senior Superior Court Judge Ola Lewis.

Lewis, who has served as senior resident superior court judge for the 13B judicial district since 2006, announced in December that she is battling liver cancer.

According to the Brunswick County Clerk of Superior Court’s office, prayer sessions will be held on the Brunswick County courthouse steps on the following days:

  • March 12, 12:45 p.m.
  • April 2, 12:45 p.m.
  • May 7, 12:45 p.m.

Lewis served as an assistant district attorney from 1991-93 before becoming a district court judge. She became a special superior court judge in 2000 and then a resident superior court judge in 2006.

Lewis is on an extended leave and is being treated at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
