COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina prison officer has been charged with selling contraband items including tobacco and marijuana to inmates for thousands of dollars.
The Department of Corrections says Joshua Jerome Glover was arrested Monday and charged with crimes including taking a bribe and misconduct in office.
Between December and March, authorities say Glover made multiple deliveries of marijuana and tobacco to inmates at Lieber Correctional Institution in Ridgeville. In exchange, Glover was paid about $6,000.
The Corrections Department says Glover began working for the agency last June. Court records listed no attorney for him.
