CHARLESTON, SC (WECT) - Down by 12 points at times Sunday night, the UNCW men's basketball team overcame the large deficit to beat Hofstra, 93-88, and advance to the second round of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament.

"People where making some big time shots, Jordon [Talley] made quit a few of them," UNCW head coach C.B. McGrath said. "Devontae made some big free throws, and Wright Foreman made some big shots. But I am glad he missed one at the end and we where able to get the rebound. That's the best thing we did in the final minute was give them just one shot."

Senior guard Jordon Talley dropped 37 points, tying a tournament record, and added 7 assists to lead the Seahawks past the Pride. "Tonight my teammates did a good job getting me the ball," Talley explained after the game. "They where dropping so I kept letting them go. and that's what happened."

Devontae Cacok ran into foul trouble early half and had to sit for a majority of the first half. He finished with 17 points and one rebound shy of a double-double.

UNCW will play Northeastern University Monday night at 8:30 p.m. If the Seahawks advance to the third round, they will play the winner of Charleston and William & Mary on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
