Junior Chinyere Bell scored a game-high 18 points, including 16 in the second half, to lead UNCW to a 64-53 victory over Towson at Trask Coliseum on Thursday.
"I am really proud of them. Chinyere was amazing,” said UNCW head coach Karen Barefoot. “She did so many amazing things for her first game back (from injury). Made some big plays, big shots, big defensive stops.”
"I know how bad we wanted this game,” Bell said. “The whole team wanted this one bad, and I was going to do whatever.”
Senior forward Jenny DeGraaf added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds and former East Bladen standout Lacey Suggs chipped in 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
UNCW (11-17, 4-13 CAA) closes out the regular season Saturday against Elon at 2 p.m. in Trask.
