Volunteers to Clean Up Shipyard Boulevard

AUGUST 16, 2005 -- The trash at the end of Shipyard Boulevard is about to disappear.

The trash and overgrowth on the fence across from Hoggard High School has become an eyesore.

Members of the Southside Baptist Church say they'll bag the trash Saturday as part of a community service project.

The Department of Transportation says because of budget shortages they haven't maintained the area as much as they would like, but the fence will be sprayed for weeds this week.
