Two Hanahan firefighters struck by fire truck while responding to accident

HANAHAN, SC (WCSC) -

Two firefighters have been hospitalized after responding to an accident Wednesday morning according to Michael Fowler with the Hanahan police department.

It happened on the bridge on Henry Brown Boulevard between Yeamens Hall and Tanner Ford.

Two firefighters were responding to an accident on the bridge when another responding fire truck came onto the bridge and began to spin. 

The fire truck hit a vehicle on the bridge and the firefighters already on the bridge. 

One firefighter was run over but doesn't have any broken bones while the other has an ankle injury according to Fowler

Both were transported to the hospital along with two people from the original accident. 

The scene has since been cleared and SCDOT is now salting the road.
