BROCKPORT, NY (CNN) – When officers in New York responded to a call about a squirrel that had broken into a home, they didn’t expect the ‘warm welcome’ they’d receive from the animal.

Officers Sime and Dawson arrived on scene Friday after a call about a squirrel who was reportedly eating cookies in a house’s kitchen.

The two had their body cameras on and captured an unexpected sight.

As the officers move into the kitchen, the squirrel launches itself off the counter and lands squarely on one of the policemen.

The officers break up laughing, seemingly getting quite a kick out of the incident.

Luckily, no one was injured, not even the squirrel. The little guy was eventually captured and released outside.

The homeowner was relieved to have their uninvited guest removed, police say.
