August 11, 2005 -- A year ago, regular gas cost about a dollar ninety a gallon. It didn't seem like a bargain then, but it sure does now.
This week, the price is in the $2.40 a gallon at some stations, and that's the highest price Wilmington drivers have ever seen.
The rising prices won't prevent drivers from hitting the road, but some of them say it will change their habits to conserve their gas.
