A Wilmington man died after two vehicles veered off of Blue Clay Road and wrecked Monday night.
According to First Sgt. M.W. King with the State Highway Patrol, Tyler Holding, 27, died at the scene.
King said that two vehicles were traveling south on Blue Clay Road when they both drove off the right side of the street near Old Mill Road shortly before 8 p.m.
One of the vehicles, a Chrysler passenger car, hit two utility poles before coming to a stop.
The second vehicle, a Chevrolet passenger car being driven by Holding, veered back onto the road before going off to the left and hitting a sign and a tree.
The driver of the Chrysler was taken to the hospital and has since been released.
King said that both vehicles were speeding at the time of the wreck.
The investigation is ongoing. Once the investigation is complete, King said the SHP would consult with the District Attorney to determine if charges are warranted.
