WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -

A film that took three decades to make is as timely as ever.

Working in Protest, a documentary on the history of protest and activism in America, is scheduled to be shown at the Cucalorus Festival on Friday morning at 10:15 in Cape Fear Community College Union Station.

The film is presented from the perspective of an observer rather than a journalist or activist.

From rallies celebrating the Confederate flag to the Occupy Wall Street movement, 30 years of activism are covered by Working in Protest co-directors Suke Hawley and Michael Galinsky, who visited the WECT studio to discuss the film on Thursday's First at Four.
