Here's your chance to brush up on paleontology.
On Saturday, the Cape Fear Museum of History and Science hosts the North Carolina Fossil Fair.
Organized by the North Carolina Fossil Club, the Fossil Fair is an annual gathering of fossil enthusiasts who share their passion and knowledge of paleontology with the public. Some of the best fossils found in North Carolina and beyond will be on display, including giant shark teeth, whale bone, sea urchins, shells and more.
Smithsonian paleontologists will be on site to identify fossils and visitors are encouraged to bring fossils that need identification.
The Fossil Fair takes place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. It is free for museum members, and included in the price of admission for all other guests.
