WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Back-to-back CAA champion UNCW has been picked to finish fifth in the league this season in a preseason poll by the conference's head coaches and media relations directors.

The Seahawks, who went 29-6 overall last season under then-coach Kevin Keatts, trailed Charleston, Towson, Elon and Hofstra in the voting.

A pair of UNCW players also received preseason recognition.

Junior forward Devontae Cacok, who set an NCAA record last season by connecting on 80 percent of his field goals, was a First-Team All-CAA preseason selection.

Senior guard Jordan Talley was an honorable mention.

The Seahawks, under first-year coach C.B. McGrath, open the season by hosting North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday, Nov. 11.
