SOUTHPORT, NC (WECT) - Artists created hundreds of unique bowls that will help fight hunger.
The Empty Bowls event, in its fourth year in Southport, will happen Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 209 East Nash Street.
For $20, you can select a ceramic bowl, soup of your choice, bread and beverage.
The money raised will support charities that fight hunger in Brunswick County: Southport-Oak Island Interfaith Food Pantry, Matthews Ministry and Brunswick Family Assistance.
The Associated Artists of Southport spent months making the bowls.
The event's motto is "Eat the Soup, Keep the Bowl."
