A Tabor City man — one of two suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Horry County, SC, last month — was arrested in Columbus County Wednesday afternoon.

According to online jail records, Dominique Hemingway, 24, was booked into the Columbus County Detention Center under a $500,000 bond. He's awaiting extradition back to South Carolina.

The Horry County Police Department hasn't released the identity of the second suspect.

According to an incident report from the department, the armed robbery occurred at a home on Hwy. 701 North near the Loris community on Sept. 28.

The victim told police she arrived home after collecting $360 in rent money and noticed a shadow outside on her carport. She went to the storm door and saw a man wearing dark clothing trying to break into her home.

The victim said she tried to push the man out but another man also wearing dark clothing forced his way inside. One of the suspects then put a gun to her head and demanded money.

She took the $360 from her wallet and gave it to the suspects. One of the men asked where the food was and if the victim had a husband. She said she did have a husband and he would be right back.

The victim then told the men to take whatever they wanted and leave.

One of the suspects then slapped the victim on the buttocks and told her to tell her husband he had a nice wife and they would be watching.

As the suspects were leaving the home, they told the victim to sit in a chair for five minutes and not move.

If anyone has any information, contact the Horry County Police Department at 843-248-1520 or call 911.
