WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) - A Whiteville man declined to press charges after someone allegedly fired a gun toward him.
Michele Tatum with the Columbus County Sheriff's Office said that deputies were called to Seven Creeks Highway in Whiteville at approximately 6 p.m. Thursday for a report of shots fired.
Officials said that as a car drove past Tony McDuffie, the driver fired shots toward him. As he was shooting, the driver's vehicle ran off the road and wrecked in the edge of the woods, Tatum said.
No one was injured but a bullet did hit a residence in the 300 block of Seven Creeks Highway.
The owner of the home and McDuffie both declined to press charges.
