A pit master from Winnabow will compete in the 32nd Annual Whole Hog Barbecue Championship this weekend.

Scott Ramsey is traveling to Raleigh for the competition, which is Sept. 29-30.

WINNABOW, NC (WECT) - The event takes place at the 2017 Wide Open Bluegrass Festival.

Ramsey will compete against some of the best barbecue cooks in the country, slow cooking a whole hog for the competition.

The event benefits the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, a charity that works to end the cycle of hunger in North Carolina.
