Wilmington Family Homeless After Fire

JULY 20, 2005 -- Investigators now know what caused a fire that forced a family from their home on Lullwater Drive in Wilmington.

The owner was cooking breakfast on the stove, and forgot to turn the burner off.

The fire started at 6:30 Wednesday morning, and quickly spread through the house. There was heavy smoke damage inside the house, but the exterior of the house seems okay.

Investigators estimate damage at around $22,000.
