Visitation Draws Crowd for Dan Cameron

JULY 5, 2005 -- A warm embrace lingered outside Andrews Mortuary 15 minutes before the visitation for Dan Cameron was scheduled to begin.

Mr. Cameron was a prominent business leader in Wilmington, a former mayor, and the former owner of WECT.

People from around the area poured into the chapel. Cars made circles around the building looking for a place to park.

The early and enormous crowd suggested the impact that Mr. Cameron had on the community. He will be remembered as more than just a business man. He will be remembered as a person who loved Wilmington and wanted everyone else to love Wilmington.

One mourner said Mr. Cameron was someone you could trust and depend on. Many other people at the visitation had similar accounts, and they agree Mr. Cameron will live on as a Wilmington legend.
