JUNE 28, 2005 -- It's now easier to find out how clean the beaches are.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's website now has beach advisories for poor water quality from the past five years across the country. Beaches from Horry County to Brunswick County are listed.
North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach are spending millions of dollars to keep the beaches clean. Officials are putting in a system to carry storm water under the beach and at least one thousand feet into the ocean, where it can be diluted and swept away from shore.
