Man Involved in Robbery Now Facing Murder Charges

JUNE 25, 2005 -- One man is dead and another is facing murder charges after an attempted robbery in Wilmington.

The incident happened early Thursday morning on Cinema Drive.

Police say Brian Rivenbark and Dewayne White went into Jerry's Furniture Refinishing and pulled out a gun. The store clerk, Joseph Daggs also pulled out a gun. The clerk then shot and killed Rivenbark.

White is now being charged with murder along with attempted robbery. Authorities say because Rivenbark was killed during the crime White was committing, White can be charged with the murder.

The store clerk will not be charged.
