WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The UNCW women's soccer team is adding some experience in front of the net.
Goalkeeper Caitie Broderick, who played for Monroe Community College the last two seasons, has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Seahawks in 2017.
"Caitie brings college-level experience to our goalkeeper position," UNCW head coach Paul Cairney said. "She has the ability to compete at this level and this new addition will make the battle for our goalkeeper spot very competitive. This will help everyone."
Broderick earned second-team NJCAA All-America honors after posting a 0.86 goals against average as a sophomore.
She also played basketball at Monroe, where she started 18 of 26 games and averaged 2.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
