JUNE 23, 2005 -- Wilmington police are using a new technique to stop speeders. They're mowing 'em down.
The man cutting the grass on College Road Wednesday was a police officer. He uses a radar to track speed and then relays the violator's car description to officers waiting down the road.
The officers said most drivers had no idea the tractor was actually a police look-out post. Officers say they caught 49 speeders on Wednesday. Each will be fined $125.
