For its third Shakespeare performance, Dram Tree Shakespeare has selected Comedy of Errors.
It’s a departure from the first two productions performed by the group, Macbeth and The Tempest.
Comedy of Errors one of the playwright’s earliest works, performed in 1594.
“I love it because being one of Shakespeare’s early comedies while it lacks some of the really beautiful intricate metaphor of some of the later domestic comedies, it moves fast, it’s accessible, it’s easy to understand,” said K.C. Macmillan, the play’s director. “The humor translates into modern language much better than some of those later comedies do so it feels contemporary.”
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. April 13 to April 16 and April 27 to April 30, 2017 at the DREAMS Garage at 901 Fanning Street.
