MOUNT PLEASANT, South Carolina – Sophomore third baseman Hannah Adamczyk went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs as UNCW completed a sweep of its Colonial Athletic Association series against the College of Charleston with a 6-3 victory at CofC Softball Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Seahawks, who claimed their second CAA series sweep of the season, elevated their record to 28-7-1 on the season while remaining in first place in the CAA standings with an 8-1 mark. Charleston moves to 20-17 overall and 3-6 in league play.

Adamczyk knocked in a run with a double in the fourth inning before adding a two-run single in the sixth inning. She was the lone UNCW player to record a multi-hit effort.

Senior Peyton Jordan earned her second win of the weekend after allowing three runs on 10 hits. Jordan, who improved to 13-2 in the circle, also recorded two strikeouts.

Junior infielder Taylor Dupree led Charleston with three hits and a run scored in the loss.  

Key Moment: UNCW broke a 2-2 tie by scoring twice in the fourth inning. After Adamczyk gave the Seahawks a 3-2 advantage with a double to right field, sophomore Rachel Willis added a sacrifice fly for a 4-2 edge the Seahawks did not relinquish.

Coach Kristy Norton Says: "I am proud of the way our team fought for each other for three games. They had incredible energy and our staff is pleased with how they continue to improve daily."        

Inside the Box Score: Jordan forced Charleston into making 11 ground ball outs … UNCW was 14-for-20 in advancement opportunities … The teams combined to leave 19 runners on base.

#SeahawkStats: UNCW has won five straight games against the Cougars … Senior Merritt Wilkinson has reached base safely in 13 straight games while sophomore Kali Jones has reached base in 10 consecutive contests … Jones also extended her hitting streak to five games in a row with a single in the third inning … The Seahawks are now 21-1-1 when scoring first and improved to 15-0-1 when scoring in the first inning … Adamczyk posted her sixth multi-hit game of the season … Jordan is 5-0 in her last six starts with a 1.17 earned run average.

Up Next: The Seahawks return home next weekend for a three-game CAA series against Hofstra. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 15, starting at 1 p.m. before a single game on Sunday, Apr. 16, at 1 p.m.
